Hey everybody.
This is the third edition of the LHS Class of 1983 Alumni Journal.
In this edition, we will relive the 20th Reunion Weekend through
some photos. This edition will also contain some of the ideas
and issues discussed at the reunion.
I’m happy
to say that our 20th reunion was a great success. We had a great
turnout for every event. Thanks to everyone for participating
in the weekend. Thanks especially to our reunion committee staff—Jane
Stanley, Judi Arceneaux, Kackie Lerielle, Tracey Pears, Kim Fitch,
John Duhon, Paul Sobiesk, Richard Montgomery, Renee LeJeune and
many others. These people are wonderful assets to our class, not
to mention supportive friends to us all.
Friday’s Downtown Alive gathering was a fun time for
us all, especially in the friendly confines of Stan’s
Restaurant and Bar. Historic downtown Lafayette was looking
beautiful as the streets of the recently renovated area were
filled with our classmates. Thanks again Stanley (Kackie’s
Brother) for hosting us.
The place was packed with our friends. Mike Morgan, John Guidry,
Drew Bright, Beth Davis, Mindy May, Kevin Colomb, LeAnn Lampshire,
Kim Cobb and so many more wonderful alum showed up in great
spirits.
Saturday’s Picnic at the Campus was also a great event,
especially for our families. Jim Baron, David Domingue, Lyle
Gauthier, BessAnn Hebert, and many others brought their children
and families to gathering. Kids, many looking like little LHS
lion 83 clones, roamed the campus filling the halls with laughter.
This event was special, so don’t miss the photos in this
journal.
I also want to
thank the dozens of class members who could not make the reunion.
I received dozens of great messages of support and even monetary
donations through emails, letters, phone calls and prayers all
wishing us the best.
I’m happy
to send out this Alumni Journal via email and will also post the
copy on our website at lafayettehigh1983.com. Please print out
a hard copy and mail to any alum you know who is technology challenged.
Thanks again, Mitch.
